Come to your local market for fresh local food products such as fish, meat, cheese, cakes, breads, chocolates, jam, chutneys, pastries and more, and lots of nice local craft items such as pottery, cards, knitting, household goods and much more.

The TBI apple press will be at the market, so bring your apples and clean bottles for the juice, and be prepared to help with the chopping, crushing and pressing.

NOW FULLY BOOKED Highland Good Food Gathering

Supporters of Highland Good Food Partnership are invited to a weekend gathering at the Shieling Project on Saturday 24th - Sunday 25th September. This event is also part of the Climate Fringe Festival 2022.

What to expect

The day will include an introduction and update on the work of HGFP, with opportunities for people to discuss different food system issues. This will be followed by a selection of workshops and talks covering a range of topics for you to choose from. Topics include seed saving, land use in Scotland, fermentation and food storage, funding tips and tricks, and more!

Nourish Scotland will be hosting a workshop of the new Scottish Agriculture Bill. This will be a great opportunity for members to learn about and feedback on the Ag Bill consultation.

Please bring your own picnic lunch.

To finish off the day we will have a locally sourced meal prepared by the Shieling Project and a campfire with some tunes - bring your instrument!

This event is now open to all, but you are still invited to become a member of HGFP.  The event is family friendly, and overnight accommodation is available.

Accommodation
There is on-site accommodation available for you to book if you would like to stay over. This is shared bothy accommodation with 3 x bunk beds which allows up to 6 people in each bothy. You can also choose to take your own camping gear and camp on-site. Both overnight tickets include the cost of breakfast the following morning.

* If you would like to stay overnight at the Shieling Project on Friday 23rd, you can do this at an additional cost, please get in touch and we can organise this with you.

* If you are coming with a family or group and would like to book a whole bothy please get in touch prior to purchasing your tickets and we can arrange this with you.

Kids´ club
There will be a kids´ club during the day for children to attend. More info TBA.

Accessibility
The site consists of some steep, rough terrain. If you have any concerns around accessibility please get in touch.

Eight rounds of questions are all set, ready to challenge and entertain quiz teams on Saturday, September 24th (7.00pm for 7.30pm) at Findon Hall, Culbokie.
